A first mention of Calce appears in the year 843AD. (…) A land divided into lines of forces associated with different ecclesiastical orders present in its territory.

Scarce water names recesses of land, excavated lines, potential places for passage.

Wine is the place where man’s hand and nature meet, the result of joint work that makes landscape a construction.

Walking through the recesses of this vast territory allowed me to draw with my body and, at the same time, embed myself in the landscape, which I discover as I walk through it.  Maps and records, from Napoleonic times to current records, created using Google Maps, reconstitute this design, the movement of my routes, as well as the words and what they reveal about this place, the lost catalan language, the constant references to water, in a territory where it is scarce, the mining activity and the ubiquity of stones, from which Calce (lime) gets its name.
